Date Night: Coastal Italian Cuisine: From Capri to Sicily

Cook your way down the sun-drenched coasts of Italy in this hands-on culinary experience led by Chef Craig Logan. Designed for couples, this class celebrates regional Italian cooking, thoughtful technique, and the pleasure of preparing a beautiful meal together.

Begin on the island of Capri with Insalata Caprese, featuring ripe tomatoes, fresh cow’s-milk mozzarella, extra-virgin olive oil, and delicate greens. From there, travel to the Amalfi Coast as you prepare fresh pappardelle pasta tossed with sautéed baby portobello mushrooms, asparagus, roasted peppers, and peas, finished in a light vegetable velouté enriched with chardonnay and roasted garlic.

Your journey continues south to Sicily with a thin-crust flatbread brushed with sweet basil pesto and layered with ripe tomatoes, provolone, and mozzarella. The evening concludes with tiramisu, a classic Italian dessert of espresso-soaked cake layered with whipped mascarpone, Chantilly cream, and dark cocoa.

Once cooking is complete, we’ll move you into our Heidelberg Mixology Lab, where you can enjoy wine and the meal you’ve prepared with your partner, friend, or significant other while taking in views of the downtown Columbus skyline.
