About this Event

Featuring burlesque, acrobatics, clown, and dance, Dancing People is a more-than-one-man show, a hero’s journey, and a love letter to the performing arts community. It tells the story of a spry Rhinestone Cowboy as he falls in love with the spotlight but finds himself falling from grace. On his journey, Rhinestone Cowboy is helped by a sparkling Featured Performer and by the Audience. Spurred on by both, will he be able to love again?
About the creator: Jean Wildest (he/they) straddles the lines between circus, dance, and burlesque in order to create heartfelt storytelling with engaging movement patterns. Favorite credits include performing as a Bad Taste Chicago haus member (2017-2021), headlining Five Star Tease (2021), competing in the inaugural Japan International Burlesque Festival (2024), and dance studio residencies with the Chicago Cultural Center and Ragdale Foundation (2023 & 2024). After over a decade in burlesque, and since graduating from circus school, Jean has been working to extend their queerest choreography out from under the nightlife glow. Wilder than Wilde, they’re Jean Wildest!

About the Featured Artist: Honey Bee Rose is an award-winning entertainer based in Chicago, USA and travels throughout the world headlining festivals with jaw dropping strip-tease performances, teaching her infamous stage confidence classes, and brings joy, wit and charm to audiences alike. With her mischievous side smile & unapologetic prowess, this fiery Latina-Filipina is one of the most hypnotizing artists to watch! Nature’s Golden Nectar with sweetness in every drop, she is the first recipient to be named Gaggy’s Nightlife Best Burlesque Entertainer of the Year and was crowned Burlesque Hall of Fame’s 2024 Mx. Exotic World, Queen of Burlesque! The Glittering Goddess with the Heart of Gold, Honey Bee Rose is traveling around the world pollinating her compassionate love for learning, one stage at a time!
