Oh how we have missed you, family. A lot has happened in our absence over the last month and a half. The fabric of our society has become fraught with divisiveness with many in our community truly grieving, while some are celebrating. Nonetheless, the time has come now yet again to dance and be together in support of the other - in the knowing that we are all human, in the reverence of life, movement, and the abundance of spirit. Despite the heaviness of the times for some of us, we all have a great deal to be thankful for. Thus, we are invoking the essence of this dance experience with the name - DANCEGIVING.
A lot of you have spoken to us and offered your feedback over the last month, and we are doing our best to synthesize and listen. We are doing our best to shift and evolve towards a more sustainable model of community offering moving forward. The ongoing efforts to elevate our processes on the backend-side of things has already begun and will continue to be implemented at our dances as we move through the New Year. Thank you for being compassionately patient with us as we learn and grow in how to hold this community better. ❤️
In light of the holiday season approaching, for this dance we are offering a "Pay-What-You-Can" style ticketing model on a new platform while removing the time-based incentive ticket sales. We will also not be allowing any professional photography or videography to be present on the dance floor - for this dance and many others - to ensure that the space feels contained and safe for everyone to show up no matter what.
So let us show up for each other - inclusively, uninhibited, without distraction, safely, and completely able to process the extent of our human experience. As well as express our desires for global peace & cosmic harmony through dance & community!
This dance will also serve as a FOOD DRIVE for ATLANTA COMMUNITY FOOD BANK, so please bring any non-expired canned goods, and nutrient dense, packaged foods you would like to donate to local ATL families in need for drop offs into designated ACFB barrels that will be located on site. Thank you in advance for contributing to this cause!
Additionally, we would love for you to join us in a Community Potluck experience at our beautiful, expansive new, indoor venue - AMBIENT + STUDIO immediately following the dance! You are invited to bring a potluck dish to share as a means to continue cultivating our collective sense of community off the dance-floor.
The potluck will be accompanied by a short acoustic musical set - TBA!

PARKING:
Entrance to the venue parking lot will be on the Northbound side of Northside Dr, SW. Turn right just before the over-pass into the gravel road and through a chain-link gate. You will be directed where to park your vehicle from this point (likely in a parking lot underneath the overpass).
CHECK-IN:
Will be in the main corridor entrance to the dance-space after entering the venue one you have parked your vehicle. Have your QR code ready for scanning to receive your wristband. All "PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN" ticket tiers will be for sale the day of the event and can be paid with cash, Venmo, CashApp, or credit/debit card, however we do recommend purchasing your tickets in advance at soldancemovement.com to reduce registration time at the event. WHAT WE DO:
Sol Dance is a free-form movement experience where all bodies are welcomed. We offer a gently guided sensory journey meant to be experienced in its entirety. The music is meticulously curated by Sol Dance Resident DJ & Co-Founder – Scott Houston – alongside talented guest DJs, percussionists & sound healers.You can expect a culturally-diverse blend of electronic and acoustic sounds, skillfully attuned to the energy of the group. Beginning with an opening meditation and moving into deeper, slower sounds, the bpm & energy peak in the middle, and are finally brought back down, closing with meditative sound healing and a gratitude circle. We invite you to gift yourself the complete experience from start to finish

BE PRESENT
Please, no phones on the dance floor. We aim to have the dance space just for dancing. You may take consensual videos/photos outside the dance space.
BE CLEAR
We provide a substance-free experience. No drugs or alcohol in the event space.
BE CONSENSUAL
We request consent: Please get permission before involving others in your dance, or in your pictures & videos.
REMINDERS:
- Bring your own FULL water bottle to stay hydrated during the dance!
- Purchase tickets in advance at soldancemovement.com to reduce registration time at the event.
- Pick up any trash you see on the ground before you leave.
