DANCE GROUND
Have you ever noticed how a child, without a second thought, would simply gather with other children and experience the joy of moving, playing and creating in spontaneous ways?
Perhaps in the playground, perhaps after school, perhaps at the local park.
Often these gatherings invited play and movement: handstands, slides, climbing, ball games, hide and seek, bike rides ... the list goes on. Yet as adults we can often lose touch with the simple rituals of moving our bodies for no specific gain.��
Dance Ground is an invitation to return to these ways of being.
It is the playground for your adult self, where we gather together in our Common Humanity. A space to share the simple, yet at times profound, experience of Dancing and Moving in solidarity with other humans. It’s an opportunity to bring our innate innocence into expression.
We can all move, so we can all dance. There is no right or wrong and no set moves. Just a strongly held intention, some great music, some simple guidance and the 'container' of verbal silence.
Dance Ground offers you a space to come as you are, and be met where you're at. Movement is the shared language and our bodies are the teachers... We just support them to come alive for you.

What to expect:
A 1.5hr guided musical journey to inspire free expression and movement.
Doors open 9.45am and close at 10am sharp
Dance concludes around 11.30am
An opportunity to connect afterwards.
Tea and light refreshments offered for some social connection time.
No talking. No shoes. No phones. No drugs or alcohol. 16+
Bring your own water and wear comfortable clothing.
Please note: There is limited to NO parking at the venue (except for 1 disability bay) but plenty of street parking nearby, refer to the map on the ticket link for some options. Carlisle train station is about a 15 minute walk and there are several bus services commuting along Shepperton Rd and Albany Hwy. Please consider this in your planning as it’s important everyone arrives on time so we may journey together (and to avoid disappointment in the case of being locked out).
Tickets are $27.50 until 24 hours before the event, then it goes up to $32.50...so get in early. Cash doors sales available for $30.
Please contact us if you need to come and dance but finances are a challenge, we want everyone to feel welcome and included so we encourage brave conversations.

A little about this month's facilitator...
Stewart Pryor
"According to family stories, I came into the world as if on a slippery dip in under 3 hours flat… As a child, I couldn’t sit still, had to twirl through doorways and loved doing “dizzie dee’s” (spinning on the spot until one falls over). Music lit up my eyes, and I found my creative outlet through trumpet playing.
Dance, unfortunately, was a different matter. In school I was told “boys don’t twirl” and busting out shapes at the school disco quickly got usurped by a need to conform to someone else’s masculine norms.
Fast forward 20+ years and I discovered Ecstatic Dance… I was hooked. My capacity for self-expression, for growth, and for making the invisible visible continues to be nourished by dance.
I was drawn to holding space for others to discover this same potential and began facilitating both conscious and ecstatic dance events from 2018, before completing my Soul Motion Teacher Training in 2022.
I absolutely love assisting people get out of their heads and into their bodies through dance. And find no greater joy than being on a dance floor and moving authentically with likeminded souls.
Part DJ, part Musical Minister, my facilitation offers a synthesis of all that I try to be in life: Its inspired by a love of music, a desire for growth, and a reverence for life’s mysteries."
