Interweaving the wry humour and moralistic wit of the madrigal collection that Gibbons himself described as ‘apt for viols and voices’, with some of the most expertly crafted instrumental repertoire for viols. Chelys are joined by soprano Emily Atkinson.Programme includes: Consort songs / madrigals: Dainty Fine Bird, What Is Our Life, The Silver Swan, Fair Is The Rose; Fantasias and In Nomines for 3, 4 and 5 viols.
