Veronica is an environmental social scientist, a photographer, and a lover of outdoor adventure. Growing up in the Netherlands, she cycled to school every day. But it wasn’t until she came up with a wild idea for her PhD research that she finally braved the hills and country lanes of Devon to explore her new home. In this upcoming event, Veronica will talk about her recent cycling adventures around the South West, from short rides along the Exe Estuary to a 150-mile bike tour from Exeter to Falmouth for her master’s graduation. She will also reflect on her experience running the photography and adventure blog, Coves to Cliffs. Finally, she will share her plans for her PhD fieldwork, which will take her across England by bike to explore visions for the future of farming.

Rachel grew up travelling from a young age. Giving up a good well paid lecturing job she went for a short drive with Dragoman trucks, crossing Africa. Adventuring around Africa came to a bit of a close when Rachel was diagnosed with cancer. this lead to the building of BoobyDo our horsebox camper for holidays & travelling. Then a subsequent stage 4 cancer diagnosis changed the plans yet again. Travels & adventures have to be around hospital visits. We've now bought a narrowboat and have fun travelling & living in that.
Each week or so we are visiting a new location.
