Free 3 month project to bring adults together to learn or improve existing sewing skills, repairs, up-cycling skills
About this Event

The Sewing Bank is a new project aimed at bringing adults together, focusing on sewing skills, repairs, and upcycling of clothing.

this weekly fun workshop will work through a programme of various technicques starting off at basic skills and progressing through to using sewing machines, adding art, making patches, repairs and making your own tote bag.

the programme will run for 11weeks with some themed topics to create a fun environment that we can all learn at our own pace.

please book onto each week you wish to attend seperetly, you are welcome to book onto all 11 sessions, or just a few, although we will start week 1 with a basic intro level - complete beginners are welcome to join at any stage - if you have some knowledge and skills dont let that stop you attending the earlier weeks!

Our Exeter CIC is a new not for profit organisation, working alongside and in collaberation with other organisations to promote well - being, bring people together and reduce the risk of social isolation - the project is open to all adults over the age of 18.

Each week we will cover a new topic with the equipment available for you to try various techniques, in a peer to peer learning style, to suit everyone no matter what level or experience or knowledge you have.

the project will run for 3 months - everyone attending a minimum of 4 weekly sessions will recieve a free home sewing kit.

Places are free of charge but are limited to adults over 18, there is an expectation that if you sign up you will attend the sessions you register for - we have kept this project free of change but please let us know in advance if you can not attend or cancel any bookings to re open spaces for others

Sessions will run Thursdays from 2-30-4.30pm at the Exeter Foodbank, 174-175 Cowick Street, Exeter, EX4 1AA

refreshments will be provided free of charge
