Join Zoe from Cove & Moor Creative for a relaxed and inspiring cyanotype printmaking workshop in St Just.
Cyanotype is a beautiful alternative photography process that uses sunlight to create striking blue-toned prints using natural materials like flowers, leaves, and grasses. No prior experience is needed – just a willingness to experiment and enjoy the process!
This is a laid-back, creative craft workshop, not a formal printmaking class – perfect for those who want to try something new, explore natural materials, and enjoy a gentle creative afternoon.
We’ll begin by arranging foraged plants and natural items onto pre-treated paper, then expose them outdoors in the sun to reveal your unique designs. While your prints develop, we’ll enjoy refreshments and time to connect with others in a relaxed setting.
🌦 Weather-Dependent Notes:
As cyanotype relies on direct sunlight, this is a weather-dependent activity.
In the case of heavy cloud or rain, the session will evolve into a botanical printmaking workshop, where we’ll use the same natural materials to create beautiful alternative prints using:
Monoprinting with paint
Hammer-press flower printing
These techniques offer vibrant, expressive results and are equally enjoyable to make.
🖼 Optional Add-On:
Want to personalise your cyanotype? For an extra £5, payable on the day, you can pre-book to turn one of your own photographs into a cyanotype print. You’ll need to email your image in advance (copyright-free and ideally high contrast) so Zoe can prepare a digital negative ready for the day.
