Join us for a meaningful day of restoring and preserving history at Greenwich Cemetery.
About this Event

We’ll be carrying out wax panelling on our Greenwich Cemetery Screen wall, helping to protect the bronze lettering which name the servicemen and women commemorated at the site. Wax panelling is adding the protective wax that lays over the top of the bronze work that features in our memorials. This wax is a critical protective layer that prevents the deterioration of the bronze work. There is no experience required, and all training will be delivered by staff on the day, who will also be able to answer any questions you may have.

If you have an interest in military history, heritage and conservation, it will be a fantastic opportunity to get hands on, and a behind the scenes look at how the conservation of CWGC sites takes place.

Detailed information about the day will be sent closer to the time, however if you have any questions please email [email protected]
