There are 87 CWGC graves in Beverley, mainly located in three cemeteries. There are 22 casualties buried in Beverley (St Martin's) Cemetery, 21 from WW1 and 1 from WW2. Mostly soldiers, their ages range from 19 to 46 and they died from wounds, sickness or accidents. One soldier died at home from wounds sustained in the Hull Pals attack on the Somme in 1916. Others died in the flu pandemic in 1918. Most are commemorated by CWGC headstones but there are some private memorials.
