Join us at Tucson Jewelry School for a hands-on introduction to the dramatic, organic world of cuttlefish casting!
In this class, you’ll carve your own design into a cuttlebone mold and pour metal into it to produce a one-of-a-kind casting. It’s an exciting way to experiment with casting while creating the natural textures and distinctive details that make handmade jewelry so special.
All levels are welcome. Beginners will be guided through each step, while returning students can use the class to refine their casting technique and explore more detailed designs. You may bring your own silver scrap or purchase grain in class.
Your instructor, Kim St. Jean, is Tucson Jewelry School’s resident artist and has more than 25 years of experience teaching jewelry making. She’ll help you understand the process and safely move from a carved mold to a finished metal casting.
