CURVES and EDGES is a harmony driven, piano, percussion DUO with an eclectic style, sassy spirited songs and delicious harmonies. Tricia Dalgleish and Shelly Vida’s individual Curves & Edges in life and music. Each month we offer a diverse THEME and SETLIST. February is Black History Month and we celebrate by performing music through the African & Black artist experience, by those who have created and absolutely shaped all MUSIC.
Being the great innovators of music, the African American music styles became the BASIS OF ALL MUSIC GENRES FROM SPIRITUAL to Jazz, Blues, Rock and Roll, Country, R&B, Soul, Rock, Reggae, Hip Hop and Rap!
“Black music has served as the primary, continuous force for racial interaction and integration in American Culture for the past 200 years.”
• We will start our SHOW with SPIRITUALS and "The Black National Anthem" then Early Jazz and Blues Artists like Sippee Wallace, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Louie Armstrong, Nina Simone
• Blending Country, Blues and Gospel into “rock hits wih iconic riffs and vocals” from Ray Charles, Chuck Berry and Fats Domino
• R&B Soul, Reggae and FUNK from The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye Roberta Flack, Rev Al Greene and Bill Withers
• 21st century expression through ARTISTS like Michael Jackson, Rhianna, John Legend and Jon Batiste
NOTE: Unfortunately we have to cancel our March Performance. See you all February and then not again until APRIL! NO MARCH 5TH show.
