Hosted by the Southern Interior Construction Association, the CCO Conference is a 1.5-day event bringing together Contractors, Consultants, and Owners from across the Southern Interior construction industry.

Now celebrating its 25th year, the CCO Conference is dedicated to fostering open, transparent dialogue between all parties involved in construction projects. By understanding each other’s challenges and perspectives, we can build stronger partnerships and create more efficient, collaborative project outcomes.

This year’s conference will feature expert-led sessions that dive into the industry’s most pressing challenges and emerging opportunities. From innovative technologies and project delivery methods to updates shaping how we design and build for the future, attendees will gain actionable insights and practical tools to elevate their work in a rapidly evolving industry.

This in person “Owners Only” session equips public-sector owners, evaluators, and procurement teams with the tools needed to run fair, transparent, and defensible RFP processes. Tailored for government agencies, project managers, procurement professionals, and consultants who support owners, this workshop distills what matters most in evaluation, documentation, and post-award communication.
Participants learn how to recognize and mitigate evaluator bias, strengthen alignment between RFP instructions and scoring, and ensure procurement decisions can be clearly justified and confidently communicated to the market.

Info: All project participants face a range of risks throughout the life of a construction contract. Reducing those risks requires both sound commercial management practices and strong cross-functional communication skills. This panel will outline practical steps and proactive strategies that can be applied from the procurement stage through to contract closeout.

By the end of the session, attendees will be able to evaluate contract documents for risk before signing, establish procedures to manage legal and technical exposure throughout the project, and understand how communication discipline and soft skills contribute to effective risk mitigation.
