Curiosity Club to Improve Academic Performance (Afterschool Enrichment)
About this Event
Description
Having trouble engaging your teenage in their academic career? Are you concerned they are not spending enough time studying or researching? Are they lax about getting their work done? Do you sense they are apathetic about their classes or seeing things through to completion.
Curiosity Chats & Questions Quests were created by a former educator who is offering workshops for kids and teens grades 4-10.
(1) student's curiosity; making schools and their studies more exciting again
(2) intrinsic motivation; where students become lured into learning by what drives their interests and wonderings
(3) student accountability; practicing building plans of action and seeing projects through to completion.
(4) building forums that encourages teens to commit to self learning and their own interests.
The end goal is to inform, compliment, and accelerate learning in the content areas and beyond!
Based on the book Question Quests students, parents, educators, babysitters, camp and guidance counselors can engage in questioning the universe around them using the activities and techniques shared in this workshop, designed specifically for your child.
You can register your pre-teen or teen for the workshop. Student's will need access to the internet, a pen and lots of questions.
MONTHLY $25 per child
MONTHLY MEMEBRSHIP (12 SESSIONS) $250
Refer a friend for a membership and receive a gift card to Dunkin Donuts, Paris Baguette, or Panera Bread.
We will also be discussing how to set goals, plan action steps, and celebrate successes in our academic and non-academic lives. Whether to be most prepared, "on top of your game" or when getting there first is not that important, but making room for everything we want to do is!
Keep a look out for our STUDENT BOOK CLUBS in the Fall, if you and your teen is interested in engaging in dialogue, reflections, critical thinkin ...all while having fun making new friends! Our book club is not a chore, nor a bore! Best used as an alternative or supplement to literacy tutoring.
