Curio-City Experiences is a new series by The Columbist designed to connect fresh perspectives, spark dialogue, and celebrate the city's modern identity.

For this first chapter, we invite an intimate group of only 20 participants to experience Berlin through a dual lens: a private architectural photography-walk with renowned photographer Konrad Langer, followed by a refined 3-course gastronomic journey at the iconic QIU.

The Plan

Part 1: The Architectural & Photography Tour (10:00 AM)

We begin our collective exploration with "Berlin Through Urban Photography," an urban photo-walk from U Gleisdreieck to Potsdamer Platz. You will discover the city’s post-reunification transformation and upgrade your visual skills with professional, real-time tips from Konrad Langer.

Meeting point: Gleisdreieck U-Bahnhof

— The Route & Visual Hooks: Capture reflections at the vibrant Center am Potsdamer Platz underground bike garage, find minimalist angles behind the Philharmonie, master scale at the Neue Nationalgalerie, and frame the iconic wave-like facade of the Shell-Haus.

Part 2: The Gastronomy Experience & Community Gathering at QIU

Following the tour, our journey shifts to premium culinary curation. We will gather at QIU (located inside the iconic The Mandala Hotel) to share perspectives, foster new connections, and enjoy a seasonal, curated 3-course menu by Chef Tim Lentl:

— Appetizer: North Sea Shrimp from Büsum, Brioche, Dill

— Main: Corn-Fed Chicken Breast from Prignitz, Kohlrabi, Morel, Jus

— Dessert: Chef’s Signature Panna Cotta
