PRINT THE PARK - forage and print making workshop
About this Event
Spend an afternoon in the park with Cho and Fercha, taking time to notice what types of plants are growing in August. First we'll meet forager Cho for a guided walk, getting to know the plants that grow there through their characteristics, their history with the city and the relationships they have within their ecosystem. Along the way, we'll collect a few plants and leaves for the second part of our workshop: Tattoo artist Fercha teaches us how to turn what we've foraged into botanical prints — a unique, hand-made 'leafograph' sourvenir of our day in the park.
This workshop is for anyone drawn to nature, foraging, and print making. No prior experience in either is needed.
Who's guiding the workshop?
Fercha and Cho are friends who share a passion for plants, and decided to combine Cho's knowledge of local flora with Fercha's experience in printmaking for this workshop.
Forager Cho, who will lead the first part of the workshop, collaborates with chefs, scientists and artists to revive our relationship with nature. What began as a hobby evolved over the years into a devoted study of edible plants and the fascinating connection with their surroundings. She's drawn to uncovering unique flora, seeking out the complex, lesser-known, wild flavors hidden within the German landscape.
Queer tattooer and multidisciplinary artist Fercha, will guide us through the second part of the workshop. With a passion for plants, textures, and discovering new mediums. They found out that they could print plants they picked from the street — and couldn't stop. Now they work at the intersection of organic patterns, natural textures, tattooing, and architecture, creating meaningful art that makes people happy.
