In the fictional New Mexico town of Eddington, Sheriff Joe Cross (Joaquin Phoenix) turns anti-mask crusader, sparking chaos and a political showdown with Mayor Solomon (Pedro Pascal). Emma Stone co-stars as his wife, trapped in a marriage unraveling under the weight of paranoia and ambition.
Part dark comedy, part political allegory, part small-town western, Eddington is designed to divide. Aster leans into surrealism, violence, and satire to interrogate America’s culture wars. It’s messy, ambitious, and unafraid to provoke.
