With a script by William Monahan and editing by Thelma Schoonmaker, The Departed pulses with paranoia, violence, and black humour. It’s tense, stylish, and relentless — the film that finally won Scorsese his long-overdue Best Director Oscar, along with Best Picture in 2007.
