Croydon Local Area Energy Plan – Community Focus Groups - IN-PERSON SESSION

Exciting news! Croydon Council is creating a Local Area Energy Plan and wants your input. This is an awesome chance to get involved in shaping how energy works in your community. So come along, share your ideas, and connect with residents and other community groups and work together to create a greener, smarter Croydon!

Croydon Council is developing a Local Area Energy Plan (LAEP) to to help shape the borough's transition to a clean, low-carbon energy system by 2050. The Plan will identify the most effective ways to reduce carbon emissions across Croydon while ensuring the energy system remains reliable, affordable, and resilient. Alongside technical analysis, the project is working with local stakeholders to ensure the Plan reflects the needs, priorities, and experiences of communities across the borough.

We're inviting representatives from community groups across Croydon to take part in one of our focus group sessions. Your feedback will help us better understand local perspectives on the energy transition and ensure community voices help inform the Local Area Energy Plan.

During the session, we'll explore topics including:

• Attitudes towards low-carbon technologies, such as heat pumps and electric vehicles.
• Barriers residents may face in accessing the benefits of the energy transition, including affordability, accessibility and awareness.
• Opportunities to ensure the transition delivers fair and inclusive benefits for all communities across Croydon.

No technical knowledge is required, these sessions are designed to hear your views and experiences.
