About this Event

Come and join in with this Mersey Rivers Week event at Croxteth Country Park, Liverpool on Saturday 4th July 2026 from 11am - 3pm. We will be finding and recording as much wildlife as possible. Entry is free and all are welcome - no need to book.

There will be free activities for all ages including:

• Wildlife Walks
• Minibeast hunt
• River safari
• Spin the wheel to win prizes
• Wildflower Identification

What is a bioblitz?

A bioblitz is an event to find and identify all the living species within a specific area over a designated of time. People taking part may be scientists, conservationists and members of the public, who collaborate to count and record as many species of plants, animals, fungi, birds, insects and other organisms as possible. The information recorded helps build an understanding of what species live there, and can be compared to past and future data to build a picture over time.
