Crossing the Alps

Incantati Duo perform music by Italian composers in Germany and German composers in Italy. They use two special instruments with long historical roots and a more recent repertoire: the Viola d'Amore, which has extra 'sympathetic' strings to provide more resonance to the sound; and the Viola da Gamba, a fretted and bowed bass instrument with an extensive solo and chamber repertoire.

Tickets are available on the door [£16] but are cheaper to buy in advance [£14; £8] and advance booking is also recommended as the venue is small. Anyone willing and able to listen is welcome to attend, whether or not they are familiar with the programme and instruments; the musicians will introduce both.
