This four-day course is designed to provide Law Enforcement personnel tasked with evidence collection the basic knowledge and skills to process a wide variety of crime scenes. This class will use classroom lectures, exercises, and mock crime scenes to reinforce the course curriculum. Topics covered will be Crime Scene Photography, Crime Scene Documentation, Crime Scene Measurements/Diagraming, Low light/dim light Photography, Evidence collection and packaging, Blood Evidence, Latent Prints (black powder, magnetic powder, and super glue), Tool Mark Evidence, Shoe/Tire impressions, and DNA evidence.Expectations and Goals:
Students can expect an intense week of crime scene material. Most of the time students will be conducting hands on activities which will allow them to better understand the material and how to process a crime scene. The goal of this course is to take the newly assigned evidence technician, patrol officer, or detective deep into crime scene processing and give the experience needed to locate and collect important evidence needed for solid convictions.

Digital Camera with manual settings, camera flash, tripod
Reflective vest
Rain jacket for inclement weather
*This is a physical course and students will be expected to participate to pass. Students can expect to spend 60% of the class performing hands-on exercises.
