Creek to Bay Day in Garber Park!
Saturday, September 19th from 9am-12pm
Meet at the Evergreen Lane entrance to the park

Join the Garber Park Stewards and North Hills Community Association in this fun day of restoration! We will continue working on trail restoration by raking main trails to clear them from fallen Eucalyptus debris, cutting up larger branches and disposing them in a larger waste bin, and weeding a few sections of the trails from overgrown vegetation.

Our goal is to fill up a large green waste bin with debris so that we can help lower fire fuels in the park and help native plants thrive! This is a big event for anyone interested in going off trail to remove larger Eucalyptus branches or anyone interested in weeding along the main trails. Shout out to the City of Oakland for providing the large green waste bin!

Garber is a beautiful 13-acre park and we meet year round to help restore its native wild oak habitat. We will meet at the Evergreen Lane entrance to the park.

You can learn more about the amazing work our volunteers have done in Garber Park . If you would like your group to come out and help restore this park, send us an email and we can schedule a day for volunteering.

Wear: Long sleeves and pants, sun protection, and shoes you don't mind getting dirty. We will be walking on uneven paths and going off-trail on some steep hillsides with plants and soil. For people who would like to volunteer in a less intensive activity, we do have weeding along the edges of our trails and a few rakes available.
We provide: tools, gloves, and snacks but you're welcome to bring your lunch to enjoy in the park after the event.
Parking: is limited along the Evegreen Lane entrance but there is more parking along the Claremont Avenue entrance to the park. You can also reach the park via the 36 bus and about a 15-20 min walk from the bus stop.
