Poet Caroline Sweeney and illustrator Chad Eckersley will alternate teaching in this cross-disciplinary workshop that explores the relationship between words and images. Sweeney will introduce various prompts and exercises designed to generate ideas and creative word combinations that surprise and delight the reader. Eckersley will help students hone in on a phrase or section of their writing to enhance with illustration, choose the appropriate art supplies, and create a complementary visual art piece.
