About this Event
A fantastic course in which you will learn how to use a sewing machine in free-motion mode, combined with paint techniques to create beautiful textile art of aniamls or nature.
Another great free-motion machine embroidery workshop. Learn how to mix paint and stitch to create beautiful stitched animals. You will be shown how to add a simple paint layer (no painting experience required) and add layers of free-motion machine embroidery.
You will be guided through the entire process, from choosing an image, preparing the image, transferring to fabric, painting, setting up and using a machine and stitching. Beginners welcome!
We provide template options, or bring your own animal images (7 x 7 inch max). All materials and equipment are provided. This is an adult course for students aged 16 + (or aged 13 if accompanied by an adult).
Holly will provide you with support and guidance throughout – even if you have never done anything like this before. Holly has been teaching for over 15 years and can help you to create an artwork to be proud of. Session run by Thread and Press CIC, a Community Interest Company.
Please bring a packed lunch. This is an adult course, although ages 14+ are welcome if accompanied by a booked adut (both must purchase a ticket)
Thread and Press CIC are a Community Interest Company based in the East Riding of Yorkshire, providing arts workshops, classes and projects for adults and children. Established by two experienced art teachers, we have been operating since 2020, providing many workshops and sessions across East Riding and surrounding counties. Sessions are delivered by a qualified teacher with Enhanced DBS. Thread and Press CIC are ERMOS registered.
