CREATIVE LAB: Experimental Art and Design
About this Event
CREATIVE LAB: Experimental Art and Design is a hands‑on after‑school program for ages 9–13 that brings together science, technology, engineering and maths through experimental art processes and techniques (STEAM).
Through creative making, participants will experiment with simple materials and reimagined finds, exploring movement, light and energy to create exciting, contemporary artworks.
Classes will include:
- Glow and phosphorescence experiments layered with art, design and photography
- Designing drawing machines powered by motors, water and wind
- Experimenting with UV‑reactive ‘light drawing’
- Making moving artworks inspired by flight and air
- Transforming sound into unexpected drawings
- Bio-inspired object design based on nature
Participants will practice creative thinking and problem‑solving, while building confidence through making, testing, adapting and sharing their ideas in a fun and supportive studio environment.
