THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW (Heimbuch/Ferguson)
Wednesday, November 11, 2026 at 10 AM
Stage Play | Runtime: Approx. 90 minutes, no intermission
In the quaint village of Sleepy Hollow, stories of wonder and strangeness surround the legend of a mighty headless Hessian. When the humble schoolteacher Ichabod Crane vies for the hand of the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel, the townsfolk might protest, but it is ultimately the Horseman who will decide Ichabod's fate.
Wilson Arts is proud to provide live theater experiences—presented by our ACT! for Youth students—to local care facilities and individuals with disabilities, ensuring the joy of storytelling is accessible to all.
These performances will feature "relaxed rules", meaning they are designed to create a more inclusive and comfortable environment for audience members who may benefit from a less restrictive theater experience. These performances are particularly welcoming to individuals with sensory sensitivities, autism, anxiety, or other conditions that may make a traditional theater setting challenging.
Key features of Relaxed Rules performances include:
- Adjustments to Lighting & Sound - House lights will be dimmed instead of fully off, and loud or sudden sounds softened
- Freedom to Move & Make Noise - Audience members are welcome to move around, make sounds, or leave and re-enter as needed.
- No Strict Rules on Audience Behavior - There is a more relaxed attitude toward reactions, reducing the pressure to stay silent and still.
The goal of a Relaxed Rules performance is to make theater more accessible and enjoyable for everyone, ensuring that all audience members feel comfortable and included.
Also, as with any of our performances, Sensory Backpacks are available at the Box Office to check out if someone would benefit from headphones or fidget toys and not have any on hand.
Thanks to support by the Martha Cheatham Hunter & Dr. William C. Hunter Family Foundation Fund, we are able to provide these midweek theater opportunities at no cost to you.
Reservations and accessibility requests should be made at least two weeks in advance of the show date.
