Tutor: Liz Padgham
Taking inspiration from birds seen at the nature reserve, you’ll learn to hand stitch using the negative space embroidery technique. You’ll practice several stitches and will be using threads that reflect the natural colours found around the reserve. Suitable for beginners, this workshop is aimed at adults who are able to sew.
Liz is a local fine artist who creates colourful and unique hand embroidery inspired by the natural world, especially birds. She uses sustainably-sourced materials to give old threads a new life. All materials included. There will be a short lunch break. Our café will be open from 9.30am until 4.15pm serving refreshments and light lunches.

Venue: Rye Harbour Discovery Centre, Harbour Road, Rye, TN31 7FW. See our website for how to find us. The Centre sits within the nature reserve and houses a cafe, gift shop and public toilets, free wifi is available.
Parking: Available at Car Park, Harbour Road, Rye Harbour, Rye TN31 7TT, about a 10 minute walk from the Discovery Centre
Accessibility: Rye Harbour Discovery Centre, a wheelchair-friendly venue, with a step-free entrance ramp. Toilet facilities include two that are wheelchair accessible.
Dogs: Although we welcome well-behaved dogs to the café, they are not generally permitted at our events (except assistance dogs).
