About this Event

Creative Commons: An Open Source speaks to the belief that creativity is a free, God-given gift available to all. Flowing from an Open Source, creativity is not something to possess or protect, but something to be shared. This exhibition celebrates the courage it takes for artists to collaborate, cultivating common ground that invites participation in both beholding and creating—a cyclical dialogue between artist and observer. Through this shared dialogue, we offer glimpses of the Kingdom, where distinct voices come together in unity to reveal a greater beauty.

This is the inaugural show birthed out of a collective of artists of faith who meet regularly in Maryland and are committed to engaging culture with their work as they practice their art and sharpen one another. These artists meet in community and collaboration with other artists of faith from Washington, DC and Virginia through Parallel Society (via National Community Church) to present specific works that represent their unique stories, perspectives and testimonies, coming together to create an open source of art for all to discover and enjoy.
