About this Event
Are you an arts, humanities or social sciences researcher, who is looking for new ways to extend the reach and impact of your research? Does your research show possibilities to access different funding opportunities? Do you think about new models to deliver impact at scale and to support your research in the future?
The Creative and Social Futures Fund is a joint innovation fund for early-stage projects in the arts, humanities and social sciences, funded by the Shared Prosperity Fund and the University of Glasgow's Innovation Fund. It has been established to support innovation and entrepreneurship in the Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences, and is offered in partnership by the University of Glasgow, the Glasgow School of Art, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Glasgow Caledonian University. The next round of funding applications will be open from 5th of November, with further guidance available at the launch.
This fund will be launched by Uzma Khan, Vice-Principal for Economic Development and Innovation, and Deputy Chief Operating Officer at the University of Glasgow. Our launch event on the 5th of November will be showcasing this exciting fund intended to provide more opportunities for Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences researchers to develop impact at scale. Attendees will be able to engage in a fantastic networking opportunity and meet likeminded researchers, learn more about what entrepreneurship looks like in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and hear from our great lineup of speakers.
Launch attendees will also receive a brief introduction to innovation within SHAPE disciplines (Social Sciences, Humanities and the Arts for People and the Economy), including a spotlight on our own examples of innovation within Glasgow, followed by drinks and nibbles and a chance to network across the four partner institutions.
You don’t need to have a detailed idea or to have started an innovation project; just the willingness to explore new avenues for impact at scale.
The Creative and Social Futures Fund provides from £8-15k per project for 6 months. Successful applicants will benefit from training in innovation relevant to arts, humanities and social sciences projects, as well as support and guidance on project development.
This event is open to all academic staff at the Glasgow School of Art, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the University of Glasgow and Glasgow Caledonian University; please do promote to other academic colleagues who might be interested.
For more information, please contact Paige McCaleb at [email protected]
In addition to the launch event, you can learn more about the fund at our online application workshop on the 12th (2pm-3pm) and 26th (11am-12pm) November. Details to follow.
