The Hon Tim Nicholls MP
Minister for Health and Ambulance Services
The Hon Tim Nicholls, MP has been Minister for Health and Ambulance Services in the Crisafulli Government since October 2024. He has also served as the Member for Clayfield in Brisbane’s north since 2006.
The Minister’s Hospital Rescue Plan is delivering expanded hospital capacity, improved emergency access, reduced ambulance ramping and a workforce plan to strengthen frontline care. He prioritises transparency, innovation and clinician-led reform, and is committed to delivering a world-class health system for all Queenslanders.
The 2025-2026 State Budget committed a record $33.1 billion to health and ambulance services, including $18.5 billion for the Hospital Rescue Plan to deliver three new hospitals, 10 hospital upgrades and expanded health facilities across the state, with a commitment to deliver more than 2,600 beds statewide.
A former solicitor and Brisbane City Councillor, Minister Nicholls was Treasurer and Minister for Trade in the Newman Government between 2012 and 2015 and was Leader of the LNP Opposition between 2016 and 2017.
Tim lives in the northern suburb of Hendra with his wife Mary and three children.
