Beach, Breathe & Belong – Beach Day, Southbank
Ready for sunshine, sea air, and good vibes? Beach, Breathe & Belong is a fun and relaxed beach day created especially for people with disability, where inclusion, accessibility, and choice come first.
We’ll be heading to the beautiful Streets beach - Southbank (Sreets Beach, Main Lagoon), chosen so everyone can enjoy the sand, the views, and the beach experience comfortably. Swim, splash, chill in the sun, play some fun games, or just kick back and enjoy the salty breeze, there’s no right or wrong way to join in.
Come hang out, meet new people, have a laugh, and enjoy a beach morning where you can relax, be yourself, and truly belong.
What to bring: Please bring a Hat, Towel, Sunscreen and Water bottle. Light Refreshments for Morning Tea will be served at 10:30am)

I, the participant or their guardian/support person, declare that:
- I believe this activity is suitable for the participant.
- I have disclosed any barriers, care needs, or support requirements that may affect the participant’s ability to safely and fully take part.
- I understand that sharing this information helps RCS provide a safe and inclusive experience.
- I acknowledge that my support person or guardian is responsible for meeting the participant’s personal care, supervision, and health needs during the activity.
By purchasing a ticket or registering, I confirm that I agree to this declaration.
Participant Group Activity Information & Rules
By purchasing a ticket and attending this RCS group activity, participants and their support worker agree to the following guidelines. These are in place to ensure everyone has a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable experience.
Activity Guidelines
1. Support & Supervision
- RCS events are a 1:1 ratio. Participants must attend with the appropriate level of support for their individual needs.
- Support workers, carers, or family members remain responsible for the participant they are supporting throughout the activity.
2. Safety First
- Please follow instructions from RCS staff and facilitators at all times.
- Activities are optional — participants may choose how and when they take part.
- If a participant feels unwell, overwhelmed, or needs a break, supports should assist them to a safe space.
3. Respect & Inclusion
- We ask everyone to treat others with kindness, patience, and respect.
- RCS activities are inclusive and welcoming — bullying, discrimination, or unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated.
- Personal space and communication preferences of others must be respected.
4. Choice & Participation
- Participants are encouraged to join in at their own pace.
- There is no pressure to participate in every activity — observing or taking a break is okay.
- Supports should encourage choice, not force participation.
5. Behaviour & Wellbeing
- Any behaviour that places the participant, others, or staff at risk may require the activity to be paused or the participant to leave, with support.
- RCS staff will work collaboratively with supports to manage situations respectfully and safely.
6. Personal Care & Medic*tion
- Supports remain responsible for all personal care needs, medications, and health management during the activity.
- RCS staff do not administer Medic*tion at group activities unless previously agreed in writing.
7. Belongings & Equipment
- Participants and supports are responsible for personal belongings.
- Please ensure any mobility aids, sensory supports, or equipment are clearly labelled and used safely.
8. Photography & Media
- Photos or videos may be taken for RCS promotional purposes.
- Consent will be respected at all times. Please inform staff if you or the participant do not wish to be photographed.
9. Weather & Environmental Conditions (if applicable)
- Some activities are weather-dependent. RCS may modify or cancel activities if conditions are unsafe.
- Supports are responsible for ensuring participants are dressed appropriately for the activity.
10. Shared Responsibility
- Group activities work best when everyone plays their part.
- By attending, participants and supports agree to work collaboratively with RCS staff to create a positive experience for all.
