This two-hour interactive workshop is led by Faith Parker, Creative Health Connector at Trafford Carers Centre.

Unpaid carers are a vital part of our communities in Trafford, yet many do not recognise themselves as carers and can remain hidden from the support available to them. Caring responsibilities can also create barriers to taking part in arts, culture, heritage and other creative opportunities. Designed for people working across the creative and cultural sector, this workshop will explore how you can recognise and better support unpaid carers, and make your activities, programmes and spaces more accessible and carer-inclusive. Through learning, lived experience and interactive activities, this workshop will help you to:

• Identify unpaid carers, including those who may not recognise themselves as a carer
• Understand how caring responsibilities can affect someone’s ability to access and participate in creative opportunities
• Learn where and how to signpost carers for support
• Explore practical ways to make your creative activities, programmes and spaces more welcoming, flexible and inclusive for unpaid carers
