Create Your Own Juniper Bonsai Workshop

Join us for a hands-on Juniper Bonsai Workshop at Smith Farm Goat Sanctuary.
Each guest will receive their own Juniper nursery tree, a pot, wire and bonsai soil.
During this 2-hour hands-on workshop, you will learn the basics of the art of bonsai, learn how to take a nursery stock Juniper and turn it into a bonsai tree. We will provide the tools, guidance and assistance with trimming the roots, determining a tree design for your tree, re-potting using traditional bonsai soil, and perform trimming and wiring of your tree to prepare it for it's first year of becoming a bonsai tree.
You will be provided with at-home care instructions to take and knowledge of how to keep your tree happy and healthy as it begins it's journey to becoming a beautiful bonsai tree.
This class will be held outside in our main field. The goats will not be out during class, since they would be eating your tree as you design it; however, you will be free to walk around the sanctuary and visit the herd in their various enclosures. You will get a close up encounter with our goats, just not during class.
Everyone will depart with their own Juniper bonsai tree that they've personally crafted from a nursery stock Juniper that has the potential to become a true living art piece with time and care.
