Ready to dive into the art of cabochon cutting? Join us for a super hands-on, one-on-one class where you'll learn the ropes in person. Whether you're a newbie or just want to sharpen your skills, this is your chance to get expert tips and personalized guidance. Let's turn those rough stones into smooth, shiny beauties together!
Overview:
In this one-on-one class, you will have the opportunity to transform a raw stone into a polished cabochon that will be ready to be made into a one-of-a-kind wearable piece or simply displayed. Whether you’re looking for a new hobby, wanting to add a new skill to your jewelry making, looking to experiment with different lapidary machines, or just wondering what to do with all those rocks you collected, this course has something for everyone.
After this class, you will walk away with one unique cabochon made by
you!
Skill Level: No experience needed. This course is open to all skill levels
Cost: 2 hours, $80
What you will learn:
- Safety tips for working with lapidary equipment
- Different types of machines available for lapidary work
- How to select the perfect stone for your purpose
- Mohs Hardness
- Selecting shapes using templates or freeform
- Tips for refining shapes depending on the use of the cabochon
- How to achieve a smooth, high-shine polish

Safety Requirements: No loose clothing, long hair must be tied back, and you must wear close-toed shoes during class. Glasses & masks will be provided during class.
