About this Event
This is not your average paint workshop.
CREATE. HEAL. BECOME. is a youth-centered creative wellness experience where art meets real life. Designed for the next generation of thinkers, creators, and leaders, this series blends visual art, storytelling, and mental wellness into powerful, hands-on sessions that go beyond the canvas.
Each workshop is led by professional artists + licensed therapists, creating a safe, expressive space for young people to explore identity, emotions, and personal growth through creativity.
From painting and sculpting to wearable art and mixed media, every session is built around a theme that connects who you are, who you’ve been, and who you’re becoming.

Agenda
May 2: Creating Space in Art vs. Creating Space in Life
Host: Joshica Acoustic
Info: Medium:
Layered Mixed Media on Canvas + Collage Elements
Canvas base with paper, fabric, and textured materials
Focus on depth, layering, and creating space visually and internally
Session Focus:
This session serves as a sensory and reflective entry point into the series. Joshica’s immersive live sound paired with Alexi’s strength as an educator creates a grounded, engaging creative environment, while Rebecca’s somatic and energy-based approach supports participants in tuning into their internal space, nervous system, and overall sense of safety. Together, this session centers awareness, presence, and the intentional creation of space both on the canvas and within self.
May 9: The Value of Contrast in Art vs. The Value of Contrast in Life
Host: Kenneth
Info: Medium:
Black & White Canvas with Limited Color Palette (optional metallic accents)
Emphasis on light vs. dark, bold contrast, and intentional highlights
Session Focus:
Rooted in Kenneth’s signature use of bold realism, contrast, and emotional depth, this session explores the power of duality through visual expression. Paired with Renee’s clinical expertise in trauma, emotional regulation, and lived experience, participants are guided through a conversation around life’s contrasts, light and dark, challenge and growth, and how these opposing forces shape identity, resilience, and perspective.
May 30: Character Creation vs. Self Creation
Host: Tone Butta
Info: Medium:
3D Figurines / Sculptural Forms
Session Focus:
This highly interactive session invites participants into identity-building through creation. Tone Butta’s artistic practice, rooted in urban storytelling and character-driven expression, naturally lends itself to this work, while Dr. Munazza’s background in community-centered healing and identity-based exploration creates space for deeper reflection. Together, this session encourages participants to examine who they present themselves to be versus who they are intentionally becoming.
June 6: Rooted in Who You Are vs. Growing Into Who You’re Becoming
Host: Dunnie O
Info: Medium:
Tree of Life on Wood Panels or Circular Canvas (with optional textured elements)
Visualizing roots (past), present self, and future growth
Optional use of texture (string, layered paint, etc.)
Session Focus:
This closing session offers a grounded and reflective experience centered on identity, roots, and personal growth. Gregory’s work in intergenerational trauma, storytelling, and culturally responsive healing creates a meaningful space for participants to explore where they come from and how those foundations shape who they are becoming. Paired with Dunnie’s ability to translate concepts into accessible visual expression, participants are guided through a process of mapping their past, present, and future through the Tree of Life framework. Together, this session encourages deeper self-awareness, connection to personal history, and intentional visioning toward growth, purpose, and evolution.
June 13: Me vs. Myself (Authenticity & Identity Exploration)
Host: Antonio
Info: Medium (Option 1):
Split Surface Canvas or Mirror Board
Half painted, half reflective to explore internal vs. external identity
Medium (Option 2):
Wearable Art (Tote Bags or Tees)
“What I show vs. what I carry” concept
Session Focus:
This closing session offers a deeper reflective experience centered on authenticity and alignment. Antonio’s visual storytelling approach supports expressive identity work, while D’Juan’s background in youth mental health, behavioral interventions, and trauma-informed care allows for meaningful exploration of internal versus external self. Participants are guided to reflect on how they present to the world, how they experience themselves internally, and how to move toward greater alignment between the two.
