In this workshop you will make six hanging glass shapes, choose from stars, hearts, toadstools, snowflakes, stockings, flowers, toadstools, leaves, baubles, Christmas trees and more! Workshop dates in December - Sunday 1st – AM (9.30am - 12.30pm) and PM (2pm – 5pm), Saturday 7th - AM, and Sunday 8th - AM and PM.

Your glasswork will be made out of Modelling Glass, and new form of glass which uses bullseye frit powders and binding agents to create a clay like material which is lots of fun to work with, and once fires returns to a glass form. It’s quite magical! Your glass pieces can be decorated with iridescent dichroic glass, stringers, jewels and millefiori to create lovely glass decoration.
You may choose to keep your glass creations up all year round, or they can be brought out at Christmas to add extra sparkle to your Christmas tree! This workshop doesn’t involve any glass scoring or cutting, the glass shapes are created with cookie cutters and stamps. You will decorate your hanging decorations as you wish using top quality bullseye glass materials.
Your finished glasswork will be available to collect 1-2 weeks later.
This workshop is ideal for those who fancy a relaxing creative experience where you will be introduced to the wonderful world of fused glass. I offer these workshops to individuals and private groups. They are enjoyed by art and craft lovers, beginners and more experienced crafters. Many guests come to experience new art and craft forms, or to simply enjoy a creative day out.
Crafts in the Valley workshops have proved popular with mothers and daughters, couples, families and friends who wish to spend some quality creative time together. Lots of participants come on their own and enjoy meeting nice, friendly people! I host hen dos, crafty parties, retirement parties and family and friend gatherings. Gift Vouchers are available for all workshops. The Modelling Glass Workshops are very suitable for beginners and children aged 8+. Young people must be accompanied by an participating adult.
The workshops are run from the light and airy Crafts in the Valley studio in Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd, the neighbouring town to Hebden Bridge in the Calder Valley. The Calder Valley is a great place to visit or make a weekend of it if you are travelling far. Hebden Bridge is a quirky town filled with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, perfect for pre-Christmas treats and shopping! It is well known for its exciting art, craft and alternative music scene. It is also a great place if you enjoy nature, walking and exploring the countryside.
