Crafts in the Valley offers a range of Fused Glass and Textile Workshops at a lovely spacious studio in Cragg Vale, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.
In the Fused Glass Light Catcher workshop you will then experiment with a range of materials and techniques to create three beautiful pieces of glass; a small tealight panel (7cm x 13cm), a hanging light catcher (4am x 20cm), and for your third place, you can choose to make a free standing arch, flat panel, slump dish or tall tealight.
Once decorated your glasswork will be fired in the kiln and packaged up for you to collect 1-2 weeks later. Your light catcher will look lovely lit up with candles or LED lights, or placed in a window. In the studio you will have access to an exciting range of top quality materials and equipment; coloured frit powders, bubbles powder, metal for entrapment, jewels, stringers, dichroic glass, stencils and much more!
This workshop is ideal for those who fancy a relaxing creative experience where you will be introduced to the wonderful world of glass. This workshop is very suitable for beginners and creative children 8+ (if accompanied by a participating adult). Half Day Workshops are 3 hours long and are in the morning (9.30am - 12.30pm) and afternoon (2pm - 5pm). You can choose to attend both sessions if you are keen to attend a full day glass fusing experience!
Crafts in the Valley workshops are a real treat, we use the best quality materials and equipment. We provide teas, real coffee, refreshments and cake. Cake is an important part of the creative process!
I offer these workshops to individuals and private groups, they are designed for art and craft lovers, beginners or experienced crafters, and for those who simply want to enjoy a creative day out. The workshops have proved popular with mothers and daughters, couples, families and friends who wish to spend some quality creative time together. Lots of participants come on their own and enjoying meeting friendly, new people. I host hen dos, crafty parties, retirement parties and family and friend gatherings.
The workshops are run from my light and airy studio in the rural setting of Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd, the neighbouring town to Hebden Bridge in the Calder Valley. The Calder Valley is a great place to visit or make a weekend of it if you are travelling far. Hebden Bridge is a quirky town filled with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. It is well known for its exciting art, craft and alternative music scene. It is also a great place if you enjoy nature, walking and exploring the countryside.
