Instructor Bio:

Matthew Sutherland is an award-winning filmmaker and a proud Panasonic Lumix Ambassador, specializing in both wedding and corporate cinematography. Born just outside of Chicago and raised under the California sun, Matthew is the founder of Matrimony Films, a premier video production company known for crafting cinematic, emotionally driven wedding and event films. His work gained widespread attention when one of his wedding videos — styled like an episode of The Office — went viral, showcasing his creative storytelling approach.

Today, Matthew and his team produce over 100 films annually for clients around the globe.

In addition to weddings, Matthew leads TIVA Cinematics, a corporate production company that delivers compelling branding content, behind-the-scenes features, and immersive 3D VR180 experiences for clients such as Panasonic, Sunkist, Performance Team, and Coast Southwest Cosmetics.

A graduate of UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television, Matthew has built a career spanning more than two decades, both in front of and behind the camera. He’s been a LUMIX Ambassador for nine years, a brand ambassador for Nanlite, Evoto and the post-production company ShootPro24.

Passionate about sharing knowledge, Matthew frequently teaches filmmaking workshops around the world, inspiring creators of all experience levels with his insight, energy, and favorite cinematic gear.
