Craft club 22 August EOC 2806

Whether you want time and space for making your project happen, maybe you’ve been on one of our courses and would like to practice your new found skills, perhaps you fancy whittling and chatting round the fire, perhaps you want to use a tool that you don’t have, or need a bit of guidance.  whatever the reason, you are welcome to join us for craft club on a Thursday evening.

From whittling a spoon round the fire, making a spatula on a shavehorse, carving mushrooms, making jewellery, shrinkpots, cordage, to making a stool and finishing an abandoned project.  All these have happened at craft club in the past.

We will be in the craft area, where there are work benches, shave horses and blocks.  Some tools will be available to borrow and coppiced wood available to use ( large amounts or planked will need to be ordered in advance and paid for)

At each session we will introduce a new tree species and tell you about it, its properties, its uses, how to identify it and (because we are a wildlife charity after all) its wildlife value.

We are also hoping to have a skilled crafts person join us each session to demonstrate a technique and build up your skills and knowledge.

This event is for adults and young people aged 14+.  Under 18s must be accompanied by and supervised by an adult.

Tea and coffee will be available on arrival, please bring your own mug, a packed tea or chopped veg for potluck stew, bowl and spoon.

This is a regular event which will run twice a month throughout the spring and summer months on the following dates:

11 April 5.30-7.30pm taster evening to come and view the coppice block and the craft area, see what wood is available and start your project 

9 May 5.30 – 8pm
