Craft & Yap: Thursday Book Club Edition
About this Event
Craft & Yap: Book Club Edition
Your TBR is long. Your bookmark situation: questionable. And maybe you'd like to make some new friends who understand the importance of getting lost in a good story.
Welcome to Craft & Yap: Book Club Edition: a cozy, creative afternoon for women who love books, good conversation (not just small talk), and making things with their hands.
This isn't your typical book club. You don't need to have read the same book. And you definitely don't need to know anyone to join us. Instead, we'll spend the afternoon getting to know each other through a series of bookish speed-friending rounds, then settle in to make our own bookmarks while we keep the conversation going.
Because sometimes the easiest way to make a new friend is to start with:
"Okay, but who's your favorite morally gray character?"
What we're doing
✨ Bookish Speed Friending
We'll rotate through short, low-pressure conversation rounds with different women, using prompts designed to get you talking about the books you love and the things you love because of them.
Think:
- Your favorite fictional woman and why you'd absolutely follow her into battle
- The book that changed something in you
- Characters you would defend with your whole chest
- Your ultimate comfort read
- Books that made you cry, scream, or stare at the ceiling afterward
- The fictional world you'd happily disappear into
- Your most unhinged book opinion
- And whatever other wonderfully bookish conversations happen along the way
Make a Bookmark
After we've had a chance to meet everyone, we'll slow down and make our own bookmarks to take home. Materials and inspiration provided. You just get to show up and make something pretty, weird, whimsical, romantic, or completely unhinged. No crafting experience necessary. If you can glue things to other things, you're qualified.
Drinks & Snacks
Grab a drink and a cookie. Talk about the book you can't stop thinking about. Trade recommendations. Compare TBRs. Make plans to hang out again.
Who is this for?
Craft & Yap is for women who:
- love books — whether you're reading 50 a year or staring lovingly at the stack beside your bed
- want to make GENUINE friendships
- enjoy creative, hands-on experiences
- are tired of gatherings that require wearing a "mask" and leave you exhausted
- want to meet women who are a little nerdy, a little weird, deeply curious, or all of the above
- would rather have an actual conversation than make awkward small talk
- believe life is better when we make room for play
Come alone. Seriously.
You do not need to know anyone when you arrive. That's kind of the point (although if your coworker would be into this too, feel free to invite her to join).
A little more about Craft & Yap
Craft & Yap is part of the larger WMNKND world — intimate gatherings created around creativity, connection, self-expression, and the simple joy of spending time with other women. No pretending to have it all together. No pressure to be impressive.
Just women making things, talking about things they love, laughing too loudly, and getting to know each other.
Come for the bookmarks. Leave with something you made and, hopefully, a few women you want to see again.
Limited spots available to keep the gathering cozy and actually conducive to conversation!
Bring your TBR. Bring your weird opinions. Bring your most authentic self.
