Our ASHI CPR & AED course teaches participants how to recognize cardiac arrest, activate emergency medical services and respond appropriately until additional assistance arrives. It also covers how to respond to urgent choking situations. An excellent choice for the community, workplace and outdoor setting, this training is an important life skill that will provide the peace-of-mind to handle an emergency when care is needed and seconds count. Class includes Adult, Child & Infant. This CPR and AED course conforms to the 2015 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. If you'd like to expand your medical skills further and prepare yourself to more broadly provide assistance in an emergency, we will be holding our Wilderness First Aid class that same weekend at the Eastman Lodge. About the instructor:
Wilderness Medicine Instructor Randy Manuel is a Wilderness EMT, Lead Instructor, and Instructor Trainer for NOLI and Sierra Rescue. He is the Training Officer and a Field Team Leader with Cherokee County Search and Rescue {NC}. Randy fills other roles within EMS as well, but his main focus is teaching. He has been an instructor for over a decade, teaching hundreds of Wilderness Medicine Courses. Attend just one of his classes and you'll see he is knowledgeable, passionate about the topics, and his enthusiasm is contagious.
