Learn essential decorating basics such as leveling a cake, torting, filling, smoothing buttercream icing, piping drop flowers, mini rosettes, large rosettes, star and zigzag borders, an introduction to a rose, and how to transfer a design onto your cake.
You will supply your own materials for this course. On the first night of class we will go over the supply list and make the buttercream recipe focusing on consistency so you can see what you will need for the following weeks. Then we'll put a decorating bag together with a coupler and tip, and practice basic hand position while piping.
