The dangerous and divisive rhetoric currently being platformed in this country has left its most marginalized citizens vulnerable to attack.
It's BlaqOut's mission to create a safe environment for Black LGBTQ+ people—free of stigma, shame, and judgement; however, addressing the public safety concerns of the Black LGBTQ+ community is as nuanced and complex as Black queer people themselves.
That's why, on Tuesday, October 22, BlaqOut is doubling down on our efforts to prioritize the voices of those closest to harm and furthest from resources by hosting Courageous Conversations, a community discussion about public safety for Black LGBTQ+ people and our allies. Join us from 6-7:30pm at The BlaqBox, 3601 Main Street, as we not only pinpoint our community's specific public safety concerns but also identify key strategies to address them!
