Supporting LGBTQ Latter-day Saints

Dear Kansas City Area Region Friends,

We’d like to invite you to this free event to better support LGBTQ Latter-day Saints and their families. Richard Ostler is the speaker, and his presentation is based on President M. Russell Ballard's invitation "We need to understand what our LGBT brothers and sisters are feeling and experiencing. Certainly, we must do better than we have done in the past so that all members feel they have a spiritual home."

Richard Ostler is a married father of six children, former YSA Bishop, and active church member. Brother Ostler is supportive of the Church and its leaders and is not asking for doctrine or policy changes. He talks about ideas to implement President Ballard’s vision for LGBTQ Latter-day Saints in our congregations and families. This event is not an official Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints event.

The event is on Friday, November 8th at Truman Forum Auditorium; Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library (lower level); 4801 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64112 (7 pm to 8 pm) and is free and open to the general public (generally 18 and older); however, registration is required. Capacity capped at 210. Casual dress.

Parking is limited. We encourage you to carpool if possible.
