Educational lecture at Green River Nursery. Participants will learn: the language of flowers and the meaning of Cosmos, how to grow Cosmos - the ten most important things to bear in mind, how to harvest and condition Cosmos for maximum vase life, and four different approaches to using Cosmos in flower arrangements.
Presented by Lynda Firey-Oldroyd, a lifelong flower fanatic who is passionate about growing, harvesting, propagating and arranging flowers. Her arrangements embody a range of styles, from wild and romantic, to formal and structured. She tends to rely on the flowers and foliage that she grows and is inherently inspired by the dynamics of the season. Lynda serves on the board of the Master Gardener Foundation of King County and is dedicated to science based and environmentally sound gardening practices.
