Join us for a fun and educational lecture at Green River Nursery, followed by a garden walk.
This class is designed for gardeners that are looking to expand their horizons beyond the annual vegetable garden. We will cover: what is permaculture, integration of permaculture concepts into your backyard design, creating a plant guild, understanding forest layers and translating them into your design, weeds and their role in the ecosystem, choosing plants with more than one function, and edible plants can be pretty too.
Lecture by Ryan Stueber, the co-owner of 13 Hens Farm with his wife Mary. Together they operate and organic vegetable and flower farm in Enumclaw, WA and are parents to 2 kids, 3 llamas, 10 sheep, 11 goats, 30 ducks and wayyy to many chickens. Ryan also holds a Permaculture Design Certificate through Oregon State University and offers garden coaching and design services.
