Cosmic Creations - A Galaxy Painting Workshop

Treat yourself to a mindful, creative escape! In this 2.5 hour workshop, you’ll design your own shimmering galaxy on a circular board using acrylics, metallic paints, and Posca pens.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or completely new to painting, this workshop is all about playful discovery, creative expression, and learning simple techniques that bring cosmic artwork to life.

• Begin with fun, grid-based exercises to get your creativity flowing and explore textures, patterns, and mark-making.
• Build cosmic backgrounds with sponges and blended acrylics - including metallics for shimmer and depth.
• Add finishing touches with gold, white, and metallic details, creating your own unique galaxy masterpiece.
• Enjoy a relaxing, playful atmosphere that encourages experimentation and mindful focus.

About Ellie

Ellie is a full time abstract expressonist artist based in the East Midlands. She studied Fine Art at university and has continued to develop and evolve her passions and loves sharing this with people. For Ellie Art and Wellbeing going hand in hand and her original works are created by her inner emotions and connection to nature and the natural environment. Ellie also works on community projects and freelances as a workshop lead for charities in the local area.

Parking is available next to The Bell Centre. Please use the second car park entrance on St Marys Way.

Access to The Bell Centre via the large green gates next to St Mary's Way or from the town centre on Nottingham Street.
