About this Event

A Summer of Stories: Explorers and Adventurers and Helpers and Healers

Learn about ‘helpers and healers’, including Florence Nightingale and Alexander Fleming, inspiring you to create your own petri-dish art. You can also discover tales about ‘explorers and adventurers’, such as Captain Robert Falcon Scott, and create your own snow slime!

This session is perfect for families with children aged 5-11 years. The session is designed for children and adults to take part in together, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the session.


What to expect on the day

10.15-10.30: Arrival and Welcome

Please arrive between 10.15 and 10.30 via the Crypt Entrance (known as the North West Crypt door). Once inside, you’ll be greeted by a friendly member of our Learning Department and have time to take part in some welcome activities as we get ready to start exploring!

10.30-11.15: Family tour

Enjoy an interactive guided family tour, who knows what you will discover?

11.15-12.00: Creative activity

Get stuck in to a fully facilitated creative activity, perfect for adults and children to do together.

12.00-12.30: Session ends

Time to say goodbye! Collect your goody bag and feel free to explore the Cathedral together after the session, or pop to the café for a bite to eat.
