Get the Details Below:
From 5:30-6:30 pm, we are honored to have Ms. Dawn D. Danner, a renowned expert in Doberman health, join us to share her knowledge about creating a Heart Health Plan for Your Doberman.
At 5:30 pm, Ms. Danner will demonstrate the significance of early heart testing by putting on one of the best heart monitoring devices, a Holter, on a Doberman. The Alba Heart Monitoring device is a powerful tool. You will learn how this can be your first step in ensuring the health of your Doberman as early as two years old.
If you can join us even earlier in the afternoon on Friday at 3:30 pm, you can check out the Best of the Working Group conformation Show breeds. (This will include a Doberman who won Best of Breed earlier in the day)
More about our Presenter:
Active in the sport of purebred dogs since 1987, Ms. Dawn D Danner, CVT (Certified Veterinary Technician) of Portland, Oregon, USA, whelped her first litter of Doberman puppies under the Sunset Prefix in 1991. Breeding, on average, a litter about every other year has produced 25 AKC Champions to date. Professionally, Dawn enjoys managing a busy small animal veterinary hospital and is the lead senior Holter sales manager for Alba Medical.
"Have a heart……….Holter" has been Dawn's passionate focus on promoting life-saving Heart testing in Dobermans across the US, Canada, and worldwide. Her mission has been to FIND dogs before they start coughing due to congestive heart failure/DCM. Research has shown that medications can and do extend life expectancy in our breed. Routine Holter testing is steadily becoming a regular part of pre-breeding health clearances to assist preservation breeders in selecting normal, healthy hearts. Dawn, the esteemed President of the Mount Hood Doberman Pinscher Club (MHDPC), chairs the club's biannual heart clinics and Holter program. MHDPC recently wrapped up their 38th Heart clinic, completing an impressive 1,520 echos / Holters over 19yrs with a local cardiologist's support
Taking her journey in Doberman full circle, Dawn adventured into judging in 2009, aspiring to complete the working group by her retirement. Judging assignments have taken her across the US, Canada, and even as far south as Brazil. Dawn has found judging at specialties, all-breed shows, and Nationals educational, exciting, and rewarding experiences. She feels that finding dogs that excel in breed type, structural excellence, and overall soundness according to their standards is a mission of utmost importance. Influencing our breed one dog at a time through preservation breeding/ promotion of health testing and conformation Judging is a lifelong passion……. all for the love of Dobermans!!!!!
